English Boxwood Globe (Buxus sempervirens) are grown for their small, neat, leathery leaves and dense long-lived growth habits. This tough, bushy, rounded shrub has oval to oblong, glossy, dark green leaves. English Boxwood remains a popular topiary or hedge plant because of its small evergreen leaves and tolerance for close shearing.
Thrives in enriched, well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soils. Mulch root zone to conserve moisture and to keep roots cool. Water deeply and regularly during the first few growing seasons to establish an extensive root system; reduce frequency once established. Apply fertilizer in early spring. Prune as needed to shape.
