Description

Deer grass is a dense clumping evergreen California native grass with lush green-grey foliage. Slender tan flower spikes appear in late summer and contrast nicely with foliage. Dependable and adaptable, this tough grass thrives in varied conditions. Drought tolerant, but may look better with adequate water in the summer.

Plant Care

Adaptable to most soil types, as long as it has good drainage. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency can be cut back once established. Can be hard-pruned before new foliage emerges in the late winter/early spring.
